With a focus on timely and accurate identification and assessment of dysphagia, our lab is focused on developing screening tools for various clinical populations, analyzing videofluorosopic swallow studies (VFSS) and understanding practice patterns in dysphagia assessment. Our goal is to assist speech language pathologists and other health professionals to efficiently identify dysphagia in their patients, so that appropriate intervention and care can be provided.
In a pursuit to advance evidence-based care, we examine various aspects of dysphagia rehabilitation, including whole body exercise, swallowing exercises and hydration interventions, among others.
With the aim of bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, we actively share our research through open access journals, conferences and presentations. We are active on social media and aim to share information about dysphagia and our research in accessible ways.
